A local teenager will have her moment to shine when she showcases her lead guitar skills in the band South Terrace at the FRAMED Fiesta! youth music event next Friday in Piara Waters.

Fifteen-year-old Rubi Bates-Waltham will play alongside three of her band mates at the City of Armadale’s youth music event of the year

South Terrace band have been playing for over a year, playing mostly covers but have recently started on originals.

Alongside Rubi the band is made up of Frances (14) a vocalist and guitarist, Lucinda (14) a bassist and Jude (14) the band’s drummer.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said every year the event showcased up and coming talent.

“Every year we see some fantastic young musicians take the stage and put on a fantastic performance for the audience,” he said.

“I am sure this year will be no exception.”

On the night young people will be able to enjoy live music, games, competitions with great prizes and one free meal will be available per ticket from the Mojito Kantina food truck that will be onsite.

Tickets are selling fast but some are still available through the City of Armadale website.

The event will be on next Friday from 6pm to 9pm at Rossiter Pavilion.
