It’s time to have your say on the new Byford Pump Track.
Construction on the pump track is due to start next year, with $1.34 million state government funding successfully transferred from the aborted splash park to the pump track project.
The state-of-the-art track will be designed for riders of all ages, with a main track and a jump line for more experienced thrill seekers.
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale hopes it will not only be a fun and adventurous activity for riders, but also a community hub where local riders can connect and share their passion for BMX.
The shire, in partnership with Common Ground Trails, is calling on the community to share their feedback via a drop-in session next Tuesday at the Briggs Youth Space.
Young riders and anyone interested in the designs are encouraged to attend.
“These drop-in sessions are an excellent opportunity to provide us with your comments on the current plans, connect with fellow riders, and get early insights into the project that’s due to start construction in early to mid-2025,” Shire President Rob Coales said.
“This will be bringing future users into the mix as real stakeholders in their community’s infrastructure and building excitement for this fantastic project,” Member for Darling Range Hugh Jones said.
“Once open, riders of all skill levels and ages, as well as families looking for new ways to get social and active, will enjoy all the benefits of a state-of-the-art facility close to home – great news for our fast-growing community.”
The drop-in session will be held at the Briggs Park Youth Space and Multipurpose Room (corner Mead Street and Gordin Way, Byford) from 3-5pm on December 10. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
