Two men in their 20s were arrested and charged over their involvement in a car chase through Gosnells, last week.
Police attempted to stop a stolen blue Suzuki Swift on Corfield Road in Gosnells, around 12.45am on May 6.
It is alleged the driver evaded police, ran a number of red lights, and exceeded the speed limit through several suburbs across Perth.
The front passenger allegedly threw multiple items at police in pursuit, causing damage to the front, bonnet, and windscreen of one vehicle.
Police deployed stingers during the ordeal, which eventually damaged all four of the Suzuki’s tyres.
The vehicle stopped on Heath Road in Kalamunda, before the two suspects fled the scene on foot and were apprehended.
A 22-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and driving recklessly, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police, driving a vehicle and failing to comply with a direction to stop, possessing drug paraphernalia, giving false personal details to police, driving without authority, stealing, and breaching bail.
A 26-year-old Kelmscott man received one count each of stealing a motor vehicle, assault with the intent to prevent a person’s arrest, and stealing.
The pair were due to face the Armadale Magistrates Court on May 6, and will reappear in court at a later date.
Regional Investigations Units detectives have called for any witnesses to last week’s incident to come forward.
