On Sunday, October 17, Armadale Triathlon Club hosted their second Duathlon at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre.

The event saw participants of all abilities complete the Run/Bike/Run.

While the rain stayed away, the wind picked up providing a challenge for our adult competitors.

The event saw a lot of first timers, with Sienna Hathrill taking out the short course female honours.

Haydn Bonderenko sliced through the wind to take out Long Course honours, while Melinda Evans took out the female honours after supporting her daughter Lucy through the kid’s event.

President of the Armadale Triathlon Club, Alex Barron, said it was great to see so many families supporting the event.

“Our own members were out in force with four juniors and five adults,” he said.

Armadale Triathlon Club strives to create a fun and friendly environment that suits all.

“A huge thank you to our volunteers and our sponsors Foothills Cycles and IGA Express Kelmscott,” Mr Barron said.
