A 46-year-old Beckenham man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death over his alleged involvement in a crash in Forrestdale earlier this week.
About 12.50pm on April 15 a prime mover towing a semi-trailer collided with a white Mitsubishi 380 that was turning right from Armadale Road onto Tonkin Highway.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 55-year-old Armadale woman, died at the scene.
Witness Steve (who did not want his surname published) said he saw the point of impact and the car being thrown by the truck 200 to 300 metres along Tonkin Highway.
“I went to go and administer first aid but after one look I could see she was dead,” he said.
“There was nothing I could do. I was a little bit shaken when I thought that 30 seconds later it could have been us, especially as I had my son and daughter in the car with me.”
