About 9.18am on Wednesday morning, community members were left in shock after witnessing a woman self-harming at an entrance at Livingston Marketplace, Canning Vale.

It is understood the woman was seen entering the shopping mall causing self-harm in front of a group of people, including children.

A local community chat had more than 60 comments from people who witnessed the incident and others who were concerned for the woman’s welfare.

This comes just after a graphic suicide Tik Tok video went viral on social media on Monday. Yvette, who witnessed the incident at Livingston said nobody really knew what had happened, but confirmed the woman was bleeding and consequently lit a cigarette while holding her arm out.

“Me and my 14-year-old son saw it after we came out from the barbershop,” she said.

“My son asked me why she did it, and I didn’t know why, but I had a long conversation with him in the car and will talk to him more about mental health.

“I just don’t understand why she would do this so publicly, there were three-year-old kids around.”

Yvette confirmed she saw two police officers attending the incident and locking the entrance until the ambulance arrived.

Police were contacted but refused to comment.
